Invented by a Mom for a Picky Eater
Sometimes the best inventions come from necessity. Founder Nancy Yen came up with the idea of a hot and cold bento box when her son started preschool. He struggled to eat lunch at school and was often hungry and cranky while packing up. Noticing he preferred hot entrees over sandwiches, she started thinking about a child-friendly bento box concept that could hold a hot entree, fruit, and veggies all in one place.
Dual Insulation Technology
OmieBox uses two types of insulation to keep hot and cold foods together. At the heart of the design is a strong vacuum-insulated thermos. The two walls are made of stainless steel and air is sucked out between them, so heat can’t escape. It can keep food hot for up to 6 hours, perfect for a warm lunch. Thanks to OmieBox’s double-walled, air-insulated tray, foods stay cool. Air is a perfect insulator (think of styrofoam or double-glazed windows - both use air insulation).
